Free Tunisian Crochet Hand Towel and Washcloth Crochet Patterns featuring honeycomb stitch - made with worsted weight cotton yarn and size 6.5mm crochet hook.

The honeycomb pattern is created using a simple two-row repeat. The only stitches you need to know for this pattern are tunisian simple stitch and tunisian purl stitch! If you’re looking for an ad-free PDF copy of this pattern, it is also available for purchase from Ravelry or Etsy:

Supplies

  • Any worsted weight cotton yarn, like Bernat Handicrafter Cotton or Lily Sugar & Cream (70g/120y). You’ll need approximately 160g/275y for the handtowel and 55g/95y for the washcloth.
  • Size K (6.5mm) Tunisian Crochet Hook – I used one of these beautiful Tunisian hooks from Furls crochet. You could also use a cabled Tunisian crochet hook, but a standard non-Tunisian hook will not be long enough for this pattern!
  • Yarn/Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends.

Stitch Abbreviations

  • ch chain
  • st(s) stitch(es)
  • tss Tunisian Simple Stitch
  • tps Tunisian Purl Stitch

Pattern Notes

This pattern is very easy to adjust for size! You can add or remove stitches in sets of 2 sts (should have an even number of sts total).

To adjust the length, increase or decrease the number of times you repeat 2-3 in step 7.

The return pass is always worked normally: ch1,( yo and pull through two), repeat across until you have one stitch left on your hook.

The last stitch of the row is always worked the same – insert hook through both loops of the last stitch and pull up a loop.

  1. Love the way this pattern turns out! Can I sell products I make utilizing this pattern?

  2. Wish you would slow down the video. The two stitches are confusing and hard to follow at the fast speed of the video.

  3. This is beautiful! Is there a way I can use this stitch pattern to make a cardigan or sweater?
