Waffle Ice Cream Cozy Crochet Pattern

My kids know that I hate touching cold things – enter the waffle ice cream cozy! I love this fun little ice cream cozy. I used waffle stitch because it makes me think of summertime waffle cones. These work up quickly and make great little gifts, or make a bunch and host an ice cream girls night – yes! The only downside is that I have started eating entirely too much ice cream since I made mine! Read on to get the free pattern with video tutorial…

Supplies

  • Any worsted weight cotton yarn. I used Lily Sugar and Cream – you’ll about 60 yards/33g of yarn for one waffle cozy.
  • Size H crochet hook – I love these Odyssey hooks from Furls Crochet! (Tight crocheters may want a size H hook as well.
  • Yarn/Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends.

Stitch Abbreviations

  • ch chain
  • st(s) stitch(es)
  • ss slip stitch
  • sc single crochet
  • dc double crochet
  • fpdc front post double crochet

Pattern Notes

This cozy is worked bottom up in joined rounds. If you choose to, you may work the flat bottom portion in continuous round instead of joined round, but you must switch to joined rounds when you finish the last sc round.

Ch1 at the beginning of a round does not count as a stitch

  1. I love this pattern! I loooooooove ice cream!!
My daughter and I have food allergies so we can’t have regular ice cream anymore. 🙁
(We can’t have dairy or refined sugar) We went YEARS without anything unless we made it ourselves. It was so hard to do and took so long!
A few years ago we found ONE brand of coconut ice cream that we can have!
Wouldn’t ya know it got SHRUNK to14 oz a few months ago!!! (And of course the price went up!lol)
Shrinkflation to ICE CREAM should be ILLEGAL! ha!
