The Berry Lane Cardigan is comfy, cozy, and perfect for relaxing on a chilly day! This design uses bulky weight yarn and a fun textured stitch that makes it work up so quickly! About the Berry Lane Cardigan
I am a total sweater person – maybe it’s growing up in the Pacific Northwest, where it is – often – drizzly, gray, and dreary, but I only really feel comfortable if I’ve got a sweater, hoody, or cardigan on. I wanted something supremely comfortable, but also stylish for the winter season, and the Berry Lane Cardigan was born!
Bulky weight yarn combined with a highly textured stitch (the tilted pairs – learn how here!) gives this cardigan a flavor all its own. (I ended up making a companion hat – the Berry Lane Beanie, as well, just because I liked the stitch pattern so much!). The ribbing wraps all the way around the cardigan body, with extra width around the neck so you can fold the ribbing doubled for extra coziness.
For now, this design is available exclusively through Crochet Foundry. The Winter 2021 issue is available now on the Crochet Foundry Website! All garment patterns are written to fit sizes women’s XS up to 5X – gotta love the inclusivity!
Materials
The yarn is this incredibly beautiful color – the pictures don’t do it justice, but this one is the most accurate (for some reason my camera kept getting tricked and coming out way more purple in photos!). The Pinot Heather colorway really is a deep beautiful wine color, and it is so soft and squishy!
- WeCrochet Biggo bulky weight #5 yarn (50% superwash merino, 50% nylon, 110yds/101m per 100g hank) in Pinot Heather, 9-19 hanks (990-2090yards)

Sizing
The Berry Lane Cardigan comes in nine sizes ranging from women’s extra small to women’s 5X. The sizing is based on craft yarn council guidelines for women’s bust size, and the pattern is designed with positive ease for a comfortable fit.
