I’m excited to announce that today the Braided Rose Cowl crochet pattern is available for purchase! This cowl just begged to be made. A month or so ago I bought a mystery box from my local yarn store. Inside was this soft, pink, beautiful, fingering-weight yarn from Trilogy Yarns in Spokane, WA. I have to admit, I wouldn’t normally have picked this yarn up off the shelf, but I LOVE it. The yarn sat for a few weeks as I waited for it to speak to me about what it wanted to be. When it finally spoke, it said… cables! So, cables it is. I’m very happy with the way this turned out – so happy, in fact, I think I’m saving this one for myself!
I wanted this to be a 1-skein project because, well, for starters, I only had 1 skein! But also, I know a lot of us are burning through our yarn stash right now with the coronavirus pandemic going on, and if you’re like me, you probably have a lot of single skeins lying around. So if you’ve got a skein of fingering, give this fun pattern a try!
I think this may actually be the first time I’ve used fingering-weight yarn in one of my patterns, but I don’t think it will be the last. I love the way the cables pop out, and how much detail I can achieve in a small space because of the yarn weight. Check out that glorious detail!
